Ein Krimi von Agatha Chritie ohne Miss Marple und ohne Poirot, sogar ganz ohne Detektive. Stattdessen so etwas wie eine Liebesgeschichte. Michael und Ellie treffen und verlieben sich und planen gemeinsam den Bau ihres Traumhauses. Allerdings soll das Haus auf einem Grundstück gebaut werden, welches früher von Zigeunern bewohnt wurde und auf dem angeblich ein Fluch liegt. Es kommt wie es kommen muss, das junge Glück wird getrübt durch mysteriöse Ereignisse aber auch durch die penetrante Verwandtschaft.

The narrator Michael Rogers, a free life player and lasting woman hunter, falls in love with the young American lady Ellie Guteman, who is turned out soon as one of the richest girls of the American nation. Rudolf Santonix, an ingenious architect and known to Michael, builds his last masterpiece for the recently married couple at the place where the two have met for the first time. Nothing seems to disturb the luck of their love place for the time being. But this appeareance is deceptive for a terrible curse from out driven gypsies of time immemorial threatens the inhabitants with death and destruction. Or was one of them born at a more terrible curse to the endless night ...?
This novel of the "Queen of Crime" is going to let a real Christie-Fan down first. It is really more about a nice love story than about an absorbing crime thriller with a mysterious murder and astute detectives. But the gloomy atmosphere of this book drags the reader into its spell and makes him suspecting the terrible and absolutely unexpected final that surprises also the most toughened crime specialists.
"Endless Night" is a real reading fun for the very demanding reader as well which stimulates to think about love and death, about fate and the free choice of each human being.
