Sunny's major inspiration is B.B. King and his playing style is based on Chicago Blues sound but with lots of extras. Previous releases include "Roof Top Blues", "Blues In Europe" (demo CD) and "One More For The Blues". Based on reviews, any of his eight CDs are worth checking out.


"My Kind Of Blues", Sunny Fournier's latest release was recorded at Casa Wroxton Studio in Toronto, Ontario. Multi-instrumental Ken Whiteley produced it. The other musicians are Maureen Brown (drums), former B.B. King bassist Russell Jackson, Richard Bell (piano), Michael Fonfara (keyboards) and a horn section of Pat Carey, Colleen Allen and Chris Whiteley.


"My Kind Of Blues" is full of great blues tunes penned by Sunny Fournier. The title track opens the CD and the mood and groove is set right from the start. It's tasty guitar work, honking harp, nice organ and horns all played over a tight rhythm section. Some are songs are "Ain't Nobody Home", "Wish You Were Mine" with Sunny Fournier's vocals reminiscent of that of Eric Clapton's, "I Feel Free" with slide and harp solos, "Blind Man Blues" and "Don't Love Me" which is a semi acoustic number with harp. Sunny Fournier is another blues gem out of Canada.
