BESTER AC/ DC STOFF!!Rough & dirty hard rock - that would best describe the sound of one of the most ferrocious rock bands to come out of Australia in the past decade. Think early (Bon Scott) AC/DC, Rhino Bucket or Dirty Looks. For lack of a less used reviewer's cliche', the Poor were among the most underrated bands of the mid '90s. Appropriately, the first time I heard the Poor was when they opened for AC/DC on the Ballbreaker tour. Regretably, even opening up for AC/DC wasn't enough to get this band going in the Lollapalooza '90s. I knew from the first riff I heard that I was going to like this band. Tight, chest beating riffs, with a definite early AC/DC sound. And make no mistake about it - their show blew my head off. Here's the good news - the energy in their live show is not lost in this studio album. More good news - they have that raw dirty sound with excellent production, resulting in a very slick, very solid, & VERY heavy album for this genre of music. Pick up a copy while you can
